An engineering-led design studio for the homes of South India — from the first sketch to the day the lights turn on, under one roof.
Feÿre Art & Design Studio designs and builds beautiful homes in South India — rooted in the architectural memory of Kerala, Chikmagaluru, Bangalore and Chettinad, and engineered for the way people live now.
We are not the third specialist on your project. We are the studio that draws the house, designs its interiors, lays out its electrics and plumbing, routes its air, sites its solar, tunes its acoustics, and wires its automation — under one roof, in one taste.
"Most homes are built by twelve hands that never meet. We are the table they meet at."
If you have ever inherited a half-finished house, fought with a contractor over a switchboard, or watched the AC ducts ruin a ceiling that took six months to plaster — you already understand why we built Feÿre.
Architecture and interiors are the visible half of a home. The other half is hidden inside the walls — electrical loads, water lines, supply air, acoustic treatment, solar arrays, automation buses. We draw all of it, before anyone lifts a hammer. One drawing set. One taste. One studio responsible for the result.
A Kerala courtyard is not the same as a Chettinad thinnai is not the same as a Chikmagaluru hill verandah. We study them as a vocabulary — and let the brief, the site and the family choose which sentences belong in your house.
Each one is a discipline a different consultant usually owns — and a different contractor usually breaks. We hold all seven on the same drawing set, so the house arrives as one thought, not seven arguments.
Before a wall is built or a piece of joinery is ordered, the room exists on paper. A perspective, a plan, an elevation — sketched, scratched, redrawn. It's how we think out loud. And it's how we make sure the room already feels right before anyone lifts a hammer.
The sketch is the first promise we make to a house: that it has been imagined, not assembled.
We draw buildings the way their inhabitants will feel them — staircases climbing, slabs catching the morning, a tree leaning into the threshold. The architectural section is where the brief, the site and the family first meet on the same page.
Every Feÿre project begins with a section. It is the most honest drawing in architecture.
Every home takes its own time, but the path is the same: a conversation, a drawing, a model, a build, a tuning, a handover. No surprises in the middle. No subcontractor calling you at 9pm about a switchboard.
You tell us about the family, the land, the dream, the budget. We listen. We tell you what is possible — honestly.

we don't disappearFeÿre is run by an engineer. Not by an architect, not by a contractor — by a computer scientist who fell in love with the way South Indian homes are built, and could not stop thinking about all the ways their making goes wrong.
The engineering eye is a real advantage in a house. A house is, after all, the most complicated machine most people will ever own — a system of overlapping systems, with hundreds of dependencies, all of which have to land at the same moment for the house to actually work. That kind of thing is what engineers are trained to think about.
We bring a designer's taste for the regional vernaculars of South India, and an engineer's discipline for how the whole thing has to come together. That is the entire reason Feÿre exists.
A first conversation is a long one. Tell us about the land, the people who will live there, and the home you've been imagining when no one is watching. We will tell you what is possible.
